The PACS Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of CPACS (Picture Archive Communication System) and other clinical information applications with related equipment. The PACS Administrator will provide consulting services to PIH and PHP departments as well as act as the liaison between physicians, nursing, and other ancillary departments as assigned, as well as facilitate training for all physicians and clinical users. This individual will also act as a liaison between Cardiology and the Information Solutions and Informatics Departments as needed. The PACS Administrator serves as the technical expert in a variety of tasks including user needs assessment; data collection and analysis; system configuration; user training; project management/coordination; and ongoing system maintenance for PACS and other clinical applications. The PACS Administrator shall perform daily rounds in all areas of responsibility and develop performance metrics for continuous monitoring of area processes. This is an exempt position.
Required Skills
- Possesses working knowledge of cardiology and interventional radiology department, its infrastructure (hemodynamics monitoring expert), and all related equipment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Skilled in coordinating and leading multiple projects and initiatives
- Demonstrates interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, nursing, and ancillary departments
- Analytical skills to collect and research data; identify and resolve problems in a timely matter
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and exhibit sound and accurate judgment.

- Proficient in the Microsoft suite of software.

- Understands system development and displays organizational skills
Required Experience
- Current California RN License OR Current ARRT Certification
- LA City Fire Card within 6 months of employment
- Knowledge of computer applications
- Limited knowledge of HL7 interfaces
- Knowledge of DICOM standards
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Cath Lab experience
