POSITION SUMMARY:
The Otolaryngologist coordinates a course of treatment for patients with a variety of medical and surgical needs related to treatment of the ear, nose or throat including malignant disease of the head and neck areas while working with an inter-disciplinary team of nurses, physician assistants, dieticians, surgeons, pathologists and pharmacists. The Otolaryngologist will act as an expert in Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery disease management and prevention.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated expertise in Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgical diagnoses: assessment, intervention, and patient care management. Knowledgeable regarding an Otolaryngologist scope of practice.
- Experience performing and interpreting laryngology findings, nasal endoscopy finding, CT/MRI, US of the head and neck, pathology results.
- Demonstrated experience with laryngology, nasal endoscopy, minor otolaryngology procedures (e.g., in office biopsies preferred.
- Preferred training in Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery.
- Ability to consult for ear, nose or throat as well as the related head and neck areas
- Fellow or certification from the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal and conflict resolution abilities.
- Independent performer.
Required Experience
- Current California Medical license
- Graduate from an accredited Medical School
- Graduate form an accredited Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgical Residency program
- Evidence of continuing education and self-development to support license requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible from the American Board of Otolaryngology (ABOto)
