Assists patients in resolving issues they may have with diet/meal trays.

Required Skills
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and ability to modify menus.
- Understand HACCP, safety and sanitation and infection control.
- Possess working knowledge of Title 22, JCAHO, CHS, HACCP, safety, and sanitation as well as Infection Control guidelines as they apply to Nutrition Services.
- Able to act as a member of the Food and Nutrition department team in conjunction with Food and Nutrition Managers, Registered Dietitians, Registered Diet Technicians and Food Service Workers.
- Able to clearly document all patient and staff interactions according to hospital policy.
- Knowledge of disease states that require specific diet modifications and nutritional intervention.
- Understands rationale behind specialized diets and can calculate/modify diets to meet preferences/needs of the patient while complying with the diet order.
- Sensitive to cultural differences and preferences.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff to ensure provision of effective nutritional care as related to diets and menus.
- Possess customer service/guest relation skills as well as business and telephone etiquette.
- Task oriented with good organizational and computer skills.

- Serve Safe Certification (may be obtained after hire).
