Endocrinology Physician

We are growing fast and looking to have an enthusiastic Endocrinology Physician join both our PIH Health Whittier Hospital and PIH Health Downey Hospital team.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Endocrinology Physician coordinates a course of treatment for patients with a variety of glandular and metabolic imbalances while working with an inter-disciplinary team of nurses, physician assistants, dieticians, surgeons, pathologists and pharmacists. The Endocrinology Physician will act as an expert in endocrine disease management and prevention.


Required Skills

SPECIFIC SKILLS NEEDED

  • Demonstrated expertise in endocrine diagnoses: assessment, intervention, and patient care management. Knowledgeable regarding an Endocrinology Physician scope of practice.
  • Experience performing and interpreting thyroid ultrasound and ultrasound guided thyroid fine needle biopsies.
  • Demonstrated experience with obesity and metabolic syndrome in a clinic setting preferred.
  • Preferred training in endocrine stimulation testing of at least 10-12 a year.
  • Ability to consult for endocrine assessment of 10+ patients within 24 hours of requests.
  • Fellow or certification from the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Independent performer.

Required Experience

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  • Current California Medical license
  • Graduate from an accredited Medical School
  • Graduate form an accredited Internal Medicine Residency program.
  • Graduate from an accredited Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship program.
  • Evidence of continuing education and self-development to support license requirements
  • Board Certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine
  • Subspecialty Certification from the American Board of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism: Board certified or board eligible
