Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA), Outpatient Hospice, Full Time, Days, 8am-4:30pm

The Home Health Aide provides assistance to the patient in the home with personal care and related personal services intended to maintain the patient's comfort as well as ability to remain in his/her personal residence. Services must be authorized by a physician when a skilled Plan of Treatment is being implemented by a registered nurse, physical therapist, or speech therapist.

Required Skills

• Cognizant of home health aide standards of care, including, but not limited to specific observations, documentation and reporting to professional nurse or therapist of such observations.
• Basic computer knowledge and abilities.

Required Experience

• Current CHHA certification required

• CNA certification preferred, but not required

• Ability to successfully pass a competency test demonstrating knowledge and compliance in patient care areas as required by OBRA ’89, or provide documentation of competency testing from another Medicare-certified Home Health Agency or Hospice

• Current BLS CPR certification from the American Heart Association required

• Valid California driver’s license and current auto insurance required
