Manages the activities of patient expirations from the time of death to the final disposition of remains. Performs critical identification functions to ensure the correct decedant goes to the correct mortuary. Acts as gatekeeper for morgue admissions/removals while ensuring compliance requirements, Prepares death certificates, coordinates with physicians causes of death certificate worksheet. This position works independently in conjunction with the House Supervisor on duty to ensure adequate direct patient care staffing for inpatient areas of centralized and decentralized units.Decedent Affairs, Staffing Coordinator reviews future scheduling, no less than 24 hours in advance and works with the House Supervisor, and Nursing Manager of specific units if a unit is drastically under or over staffed.In addition to staffing, the Staffing Coordinator tracks nursing care hours, staffing records, sick calls, decedent affairs, and registry tracking.This is a non-exempt position.

Required Experience
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, or complete a medical terminology course within six months of hire
- 1–2-year previous hospital/healthcare experience as staffing coordinator.
Preferred:
- 3 years previous hospital/healthcare experience as staffing coordinator.
