Apply Now Hospital Name PIH Health Whittier Hospital Location Whittier, California Job Type Full-Time/Regular Job ID 27572Reporting to the System Director, Facilities, the Facilities Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing hospital facilities, including NFPA codes, CMS Conditions of Participation, CDPH requirements, OSHA, HCAI (formerly OSHPD), CIHQ/TJC standards, and local AHJ mandates enterprise wide. This role serves as the subject matter expert on Environment of Care (EOC), Life Safety (LS), emergency preparedness, and facility-related compliance across all hospital, outpatient, and medical office locations. The position also includes oversight of Los Angeles City LAFD Regulation 4 testing and certifications.

Required Skills
SPECIFIC SKILLS NEEDED
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships across departments and with regulatory agencies.
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities in a dynamic healthcare environment.
- Extensive knowledge of NFPA codes, California Fire & Building Codes, CMS, CDPH, CAL-OSHA, HCAI, and CIHQ/TJC standards.
- Strong working knowledge of LAFD Regulation 4 processes, requirements, and documentation.
Required Experience
Required:
- Minimum 2 years in a hospital/healthcare environment
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, Fire Protection Engineering, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Ten (10) years of experience in California hospital-based EOC and Life Safety compliance.
- Experience representing healthcare organizations during regulatory surveys (CMS, CDPH, State Fire Marshal, OSHA, CIHQ/TJC, Board of Pharmacy, LAFD/Reg 4).
- Certifications such as CHFM, CHSP, or CFPS.
