HR Benefits and Retirement Specialist

The Benefits and Retirement Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day administration of employee benefits and focus on retirement programs, including health and welfare plans, retirement savings and administration. This role involves providing exceptional customer service to employees, ensuring accurate record-keeping, maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations, and assisting with enrollment and communication efforts.

Required Skills

  • Familiarity with retirement plans common in healthcare settings (e.g., 403(b), defined benefit pensions).
  • Knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, IRS, DOL regulations, and ACA considerations.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of current State and Federal Employment laws.

Required Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Prior Human Resources experience
  • 3+ years of experience in benefits administration and retirement benefits administration, ideally within a healthcare or hospital system.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
