The Lead Physical Therapist is an expert therapist. In addition to providing direct patient care upon physician referral, this therapist participates in department program development and performance improvement activities, participates in orientation of new staff, provides ongoing education (formal and informal) to all staff, and serves as a clinical resource for the department. In the absence of and in partnership with department management, supports departmental initiatives.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform patient care utilizing correct body mechanics.
- Competent to evaluate and treat a variety of diagnoses for patients who may be infants, children, adults, or older adults.
Required Experience
Required:
- Must have and maintain current California Physical Therapist License.
- At least 5 years of licensed experience.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred:
- Experience with a wide variety of patient diagnoses.
- Advanced clinical and professional skills.
- Ongoing clinical and professional growth.
- Active participation in program development and student programs.
- Active membership in the American Physical Therapy Association and other applicable professional organizations.
- Basic Windows and mouse skills.
