The Manager of Physical Medicine is primarily an administrative position. Serves as back-up for the Director of Physical Medicine, coordinates the educational activities and competency assessment of the Inpatient and off site clinic staff, assures high level of customer service, coordinates daily resource allocation across the departments and locations assuring all ordered treatments are completed, participates in department program development and performance improvement activities and participates in hiring and orientation of new staff. This position assists the director in all assigned duties in provision of daily operational oversight of the hospital and off site clinic Inpatient rehab areas and serves as an administrative resource for these departments.

- Ability to perform patient care utilizing correct body mechanics.
- With consideration to age, employee utilizes the approved process to resolve biophysical, psychological, educational and environmental needs of patient/significant others when administering care.
- Competent to evaluate and treat a variety of diagnoses for patients who may be infants, children, adults or older adults.
- Professional experience includesadvanced clinical and professional skills, ongoing clinical and professional growth and active participation in program development and student programs.
- Outstanding communication skills.
Required Experience
Required:
- Licensed as an occupational therapist, physical therapist or speech and language pathologist in California, or eligible to take the examination for licensure in the State of California if coming from out of state
- Must maintain current California license
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- L.A City Fire card within 6 months of hire
- Two years of experience
Preferred:
- Active membership in professional organizations
- Administrative experience
- Advanced Windows and Microsoft Office applications skills
- Experience with a wide variety of patient diagnoses
