Required Skills
- Demonstrates complete technical knowledge of all areas of the Cancer Registry, i.e., State of California reporting requirements, ACoS requirements, SEER staging, TNM staging, Patient Care Evaluation (PCE), data collection and patient follow-up.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Familiarity with and knowledge of computers, i.e., CNExT, spreadsheet and word processing programs.
- A knowledge of general principles of statistical computation is mandatory.
Required Experience
Required:
- Must be an Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR)
- Hybrid after successful probationary period.
Preferred:
- Preferred completion of an approved Cancer Registry training program.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a hospital-based American College of Surgeons (ACoS) approved cancer program is preferred
- Prior experience in publishing an annual report is preferred.
- Proven track record with a successful ACoS approved program is preferred.
