The role functions as a primary leader in promoting systems to foster the development of a proactive culture of patient safety. The Patient Safety Outcomes Coordinator performs clinical investigations and communicates trends and patterns that will facilitate improvement. Leads or actively participates in performance improvement projects based on performance outcomes, data analyses, regulatory requirements, and/or evidence-based nursing practice standards. Assesses the educational needs of staff, provides education as appropriate and serves as a clinical resource. Coordinates the collection, evaluation, and dissemination of performance data relative to specified quality improvement programs within the hospital. And lastly, coordinates data entry into external data repositories.

Required Experience
Required:
- Current California RN license
- Minimum five years’ experience in acute care setting
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
- LA City Fire Card within 6 months of employment
Preferred:
- MSN with emphasis in acute care
- Previous experience with nursing quality improvement/management
